Lipson, Roberta

Chief Executive Officer and President

Ms. Lipson has more than 30 years of experience in various aspects of the healthcare industry including pharmaceuticals, capital medical equipment and consumable products marketing and distribution, and hospital management. Since she co-founded Chindex in 1981, the company has grown to become the premier American healthcare company in China. She has been the creative force behind the United Family Healthcare concept, and has been central to the development and implementation of the world-class hospital and clinic network. Ms. Lipson is a member of the Board of Directors of the company.
Ms. Lipson is an expert in many aspects of health care in China and has shared this expertise in many forums. She has authored articles and often speaks on issues related to the healthcare industry in China. An active member of the business community in Beijing for over 30 years, she has served on the Board of Governors of AmCham-China and on the Board of Directors of the U.S.-China Business Council, and Chairs the Board of the United Foundation for Children’s Health. She holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in History from Brandeis University.

Silverberg, Elyse Beth

Ms. Silverberg began her career in China at the newly opened office of the National Council for US-China Trade. Subsequently she spent two years at the Beijing office of Sobin Chemicals and in 1981 together with her friend and colleague Roberta Lipson, co-founded Chindex International. She has served as Executive Vice President since the founding of the company. Ms. Silverberg is also the Chief Operating Officer of Chindex Medical Limited, the joint venture company established with FosunPharma in 2010. Ms. Silverberg is a member of the Board of Directors of the company.
Ms. Silverberg graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Albany where she earned her degree with a double major in Chinese Studies and History. She has also studied at the Beijing Language Institute and Peking University. Ms. Silverberg is an active community member in Beijing and has previously served as Chairman of the Board of the International School of Beijing and was a co-founder of the Board of the Kehilat Beijing and is a Director of the Sino-Judaic Society.

Fulton, Daniel

Vice President, Information Technology Services

As Vice-President of Information
Technology Services, Mr. Fulton is responsible for all aspects of
corporate-wide information technology strategy and the management
of information systems' operations. Mr. Fulton joined Chindex in
2004. Prior to joining Chindex, Mr. Fulton served for over 5 years
as China Manager in the Information Systems and Services division
of Delphi Automotive Systems. Before coming to China, Mr. Fulton
was a consultant with MILS & Associates. Mr. Fulton holds an
MBA from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science
degree from Mississippi College. He speaks Chinese fluently.

Xue, Walter
|
Senior Vice President, Finance
|
Mr. Xue joined Chindex in 1996. His initial role was Financial Manager, with subsequent promotion to Financial Controller (China). In April 2004 he was appointed to the position of Vice President for Finance and Controller (China). In January 2011 he was appointed to his
current position of Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller (China).
During his career at Chindex, Mr. Xue has been responsible for all finance functions
in mainland China for Chindex China-based entities, including the accounting operation,
cash management, the management of the minority investment, all tax management
(including global tax planning), and audit issues.
Prior to joining Chindex, Mr. Xue worked in the Beijing Jinglan Hotel as Financial Manager from 1991 to 1993. From 1993 to 1996, he served as Financial Manager and Financial Director for the PSI Company and ASI Company respectively.
He graduated from Beijing Commercial University with a B.A. in accounting in 1990 and holds
an MBA from Rutgers University.

Gaynor, Kate
|
General Manager, Guangzhou Market
|
Dr. Kate Gaynor has been the General Manager of the Guangzhou Market for UFH since 2011. She is a U.S. board-certified Family Medicine physician. She received her Bachelor of Arts in 1990 from Yale University with a major in Anthropology and attended Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons for her medical degree. Dr. Gaynor completed residency in Family Medicine at the University of Washington in 2004.
From 2004 to 2006, Dr. Gaynor served as an officer in the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), assigned to the Disease Outbreak Control Division of the Hawaii Department of Health. Dr. Gaynor remained at the Hawaii Department of Health after completing her CDC assignment, working in epidemiology and emergency preparedness until 2011. Dr. Gaynor administered Hawaii’s Hospital Preparedness Program and developed the state volunteer Medical Reserve Corps. She was also a member of the Hawaii Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT).
Dr. Gaynor’s interests include global health and cross cultural medicine. She has traveled extensively, working in such diverse areas as Argentina, Fiji, American Samoa, Kyrgyzstan, and Sierra Leone.

Hou, Simon

Vice President, UFH Financial Controller

Simon joined UFH in November 2005 and is responsible for leading the financial operation team to serve the overall UFH network. Simon has over 20 years of experience in financial management. Prior to joining UFH, he served in Ernest & Young China and Siemens China. Simon possesses an MBA degree from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s Degree from China Central University of Finance and Economics

Hu, Katty

Vice President, Human Resources

Katty Hu is UFH Vice President, Human Resources, and joined UFH in October 2011. Katty has more than 16 years of working experience in the Human Resources area. She spent most of the time serving multinational Fortune® 500 companies in China. Katty has a very good understanding of multi-national organizations and intercultural cooperation. Katty received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Lanzhou University, China.

Liu, Daniel

General Manager, Tianjin United Family Hospital

Daniel Liu has served as General Manager of Tianjin United Family Hospital (TJU) since it opened in December of 2011. He began his career as a physician, and transitioned to healthcare management in the mid-1990s. Daniel has over 13 years of rich experience in the private sector of China’s healthcare industry. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine Science from Henan Medical University in 1993 and Master’s degree in Management from Lesley University in Boston in 2001.

Pan, Sylvia

Vice President and General Manager, North China Market

Sylvia Pan has been General Manager of the United Family Hospitals (UFH) Beijing Market since July 2008 and has been part of the Chindex organization since 1996. Sylvia received her Bachelor’s degree from Xiangtan University in 1991 and completed her MBA degree at Guanghua Management School, Peking University in 2001. She finished a second Master’s degree in Healthcare Business Administration at the University of Colorado in 2004.

Shen, Xiao Yan

Chief Nursing Officer

Shen Xiao Yan is the Vice President of the UFH Nursing Administrative Office. She is responsible for nursing administrative issues group-wide, focusing on UFH nursing professional development, establishing nursing policy and procedures based on JCI standards, standardizing nursing training, nursing staff retention and recruiting etc. Shen was trained in China, and has training experience in the USA. She has worked in nursing for 28 years, including 5 year overseas working experience in the UAE. She was promoted as nursing leader in UFH after 6 month of her employment in BJU.

Xie, Ming

Senior Vice President, Hospital Systems Development

Xie Ming is the Senior Vice President of UFH for Hospital System Development and his current position includes responsibility for leadership and management team of the hospital development of UFH. Xie Ming joined Chindex in May 1994 and transferred to the United Family Hospital in December 2005. Xie Ming has over 15 years of healthcare management and hospital investment experience. Xie Ming has his MBA from Fordham University.
