Chindex International, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHDX), an independent American
provider of Western healthcare products and medical services in the
People's Republic of China, today announced the opening of its United
Family Downtown Clinic in Beijing.
The
outpatient facility is the second such satellite clinic affiliated
with the Company's Beijing United Family Hospital . It is located
in the St. Regis Hotel in the heart of the diplomatic district. The
clinic will offer a variety of outpatient services including family
medicine, dental, immigration physicals and mental health counseling.

Lipson, Chindex CEO and Chairman of the Board of United Family Hospitals
commented on the opening: "With the opening of our United Family
Downtown Clinic our premier healthcare services are now more widely
available to Beijing 's growing expatriate community. The clinic,
located in the heart of the diplomatic district, provides easy access

our second hospital facility, Shanghai United Family Hospital , this
is the next step in the expansion of our United Family Hospital network."
Chindex
began its Healthcare Services business in China in 1997 with the opening
of China 's first foreign owned and operated for profit hospital in
Beijing . Beijing United Family Hospital has been successfully serving
the needs of the international residents of Beijing, as well as a
growing Chinese patient population who are willing and able to pay
for the premium services provided by the hospital. The Company's hospitals
in Beijing and Shanghai both offer a broad range of in-patient and
ambulatory services which are supplemented by two off-site satellite
clinics in Beijing , and one in Shanghai , which help to increase
